That picture was shot in the Bac Ha market in the northern part of Vietnam, not far from the Chinese border. It is an area that is home to a number of ethnic minorities and this market is where each Sunday people not only exchange their goods, buy supplies, and socialize, but it’s the place where young people are matched as potential marital partners.
