While I never knew him, I knew his mother and worked with her close to 25 years.
I remember how proud she was of her son’s accomplishments. His wife was also an Army officer and had a difficult time accepting her husband’s death. At the time of 9/11, Major Patterson was assigned to the Pentagon.
