We had a visiting relative who we took to Jerusalem and then up north.  It gave us the opportunity to see the north for the first time since the war and to spend a little money where it&#8217;s needed.<\/p>\n<p>We were surprised to see very little damage in the area where we traveled although there was a minor rocket hit in an alley not far from where we stayed.<\/p>\n<p>I had forgotten how beautiful the land is.  I love the starkness of the hills, dotted with acacias and sycamores and olive trees.  I love the stone streets and alleys and the shuttered stone dwellings.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Jerusalem is the crowning glory, and so we spent time there too.
